Yes β Marbella and Puerto BanΓΊs are very safe for groups of women. The area is well-policed, has a strong tourist infrastructure, and is used to welcoming hen groups from across Europe. As with any destination, normal common sense applies: stick together, arrange pre-booked transfers rather than flagging down taxis, and let someone at home know your villa address. We have been operating in Puerto BanΓΊs for years and can advise on the safest routes, reputable transfer companies and which venues are most group-friendly.
Most groups stay 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday, or Friday to Monday). This gives you one villa party arrival night, one big activity day (typically the boat), one nightclub night, and a relaxed final morning before the flight. If you want to add a beach club day or a second big night out, 4 nights works perfectly. Two nights is possible but very rushed β you'll spend most of the first day travelling and most of the last day at the airport.
Marbella is a glamorous destination and venues reflect that. For beach clubs during the day: swimwear with a cover-up or kaftan is fine, smart sandals preferred (flip-flops are sometimes turned away at higher-end venues). For evening clubs and bars: smart-casual minimum, with smart-glam for places like Olivia ValΓ¨re or La Suite. Trainers, sportswear and flip-flops are typically not permitted in nightclubs. For peak season (JuneβSeptember), we recommend booking at least 2β3 months in advance. Boat trips, villas and popular beach clubs fill up fast β especially for weekends. If your dates are flexible, booking 4β6 months ahead gives you the most choice and often better prices. For October through May, a month or two is usually sufficient. The earlier you contact us, the more options we can offer.
Puerto BanΓΊs is the main nightlife hub for hen groups. It's more glamorous, more international, and more intense β think superyachts, sports cars and world-famous clubs like Olivia ValΓ¨re and Momento. Marbella Old Town (Casco Antiguo) has a more relaxed, local and Spanish feel β beautiful plazas, tapas bars and a more authentic atmosphere. Most groups base themselves in Puerto BanΓΊs and stay there for the nightlife, but a tapas evening in the Old Town makes a lovely contrast on a quieter night.
Yes β especially for Ocean Club, Nikki Beach and Nao Pool Club during JuneβSeptember. The most popular Sunday sessions at these venues sell out weeks in advance. Balinese beds (daybeds) and VIP areas require reservations and often a minimum spend. Walking in on a busy Sunday without a booking will usually mean no seating and a very long wait. The best option for hen groups is a private minibus or Mercedes transfer β roughly 45β50 minutes and around β¬80ββ¬120 for the whole vehicle (very cost-effective per person for a group). Taxis and Uber are available but work out more expensive for larger groups. The bus (line 620 to Marbella) is the budget option but takes longer with luggage, and you'll still need a taxi from Marbella bus station to your villa. We recommend organising the transfer in advance so you step off the plane and straight into the celebration.
